The 2025-2026 school year officially began on Monday, August 25, with a warm community welcome across all Sto-Rox schools.

Sto-Rox School District Chief Recovery Officer Dr. Nancy Raible has released, as part of a 30-day public review, an Amended Financial Recovery Plan (2025) that will serve as a supplement to the original 2022 Financial Recovery Plan, pending adoption by the Board of School Directors on September 25.

Families are invited to Sto-Rox Upper Elementary on Friday, September 26, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for a special Title I event, Data and Donuts. This fun and informative morning will feature fresh donuts, hot coffee, and an opportunity to connect with staff and other families.

On Monday, August 18, Sto-Rox School District staff gathered for the start of the new school year, where Superintendent Mrs. Sonya Coleman introduced new team members, shared the district’s vision and priorities, and led activities to build connections and prepare for 2025-2026.

The Sto-Rox School District hosted its annual Back-to-School Celebration on Friday, August 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jr./Sr. High School. This lively community event brought together families, district staff, and community partners for one final summer gathering before the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

The 2025–2026 school year begins on Monday, August 25, and Sto-Rox is excited to welcome students and families back! To help ease the transition and give families a chance to meet teachers and explore the buildings, all schools will host an Open House.

Dr. Lisa Mumau, Sto-Rox Primary Center Principal, and Ed Pierce, Sto-Rox Community/Parent Liason, will be visiting selected areas in the McKees Rocks community to support families. They’ll be set up with resources, snacks, and one-on-one help for parents who need assistance enrolling their child in kindergarten.

If your child attends school at the Primary Center or Upper Elementary and will need a different pick-up or drop-off location than your home address during the 2025-26 school year, you must complete an Alternative Transportation Form.
