Curriculum
Sto-Rox School District offers all students a diverse, high-quality curriculum that is continually developed and refined by an outstanding team of highly qualified educators. The faculty, staff, and administration at Sto-Rox are thoroughly committed to providing all students with the opportunity to flourish and succeed, providing access to multiple support systems along the way to ensure their success.
Sto-Rox Primary Center serves students in grades K-3 and lays the foundation for academic success. Reading and math are major areas of focus, with longer blocks of instructional time and intervention/enrichment time built into the daily schedule. Science and social studies are also an important part of the daily schedule, while other classes such as physical education, music, art, STEAM, and library take place in a 5 day cycle.
Sto-Rox Upper Elementary School serves students in grades 4-6, providing critical skill development and concept mastery in these important transitional years. Similar to the Primary Center, reading and math continue to be the major areas of focus, with longer blocks of instructional time and intervention/enrichment time built into the daily schedule. Science and social studies continue to be an important part of the daily schedule, while physical education, music, art, STEAM, and library continue to follow the 5 day cycle.
Sto-Rox Junior/Senior High School serves students in grades 7-12. Students in grades 7 and 8 focus mainly on 4 core content areas – English language arts, math, science, and social studies. Other courses of study include health and physical education, Spanish, band, chorus, technology, art, STEAM, and computer skills. Students in grades 9-12 continue in the same core subjects, with additional opportunities in many areas. The SRHS Program of Studies details these opportunities: SRHS Program of Studies 2026-27.
As noted in the SRSD Instructional Framework linked below, district curriculum will be maintained on a 4-year cycle, beginning with the process of board approval of all K-12 curriculum in the 2026-27 school year. The 2025-26 school year is a transition year for the development and articulation of the complete K-12 curriculum. For a list of current curricular resources, please reach out to the building principal or district director of curriculum, assessment, and instruction.
