School Bus Scheduling

• Bus assignments will be mailed to each eligible student in August prior to the start of the school year.
• Students should arrive at their assigned bus stop at least 10 minutes before the assigned time
• Parents and guardians are encouraged to dress their student for the appropriate weather for the day. This includes winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, umbrellas or raincoats. Reflective tape may also be considered to wear on student outerwear for safety.
• Weather and/or traffic can cause delays in busing. In poor weather, if the bus does not arrive after 10 or more minutes have passed after the assigned bus stop time, parents may consider taking the student to school on their own.
• Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to accompany their student(s) to the bus stop in the morning, and the afternoon.
• Kindergarten students will NOT be released at the bus stop unless an adult is present.
• For 2 hour delays, please add 2 hours to your normal stop time.

Child Care

• Daycare facilities and family members located inside of the District can be utilized as an alternate stop for before and after school child care. Please complete and return a Request for Alternate Transportation form and allow for a few days for processing.  The District does not transport to daycare facilities or family members who are located outside of the District.
• Families who have a custodial split calendar of agreement, and when both parties live within District boundaries, should work together to utilize one bus stop for the student(s) involved. This simplifies the dismissal process at the schools and is a process meant to promote stability for the student. If possible, one stop located equidistant from both residences may be utilized. The transportation director can help locate the best stop for your situation.
• Families who have a custodial split calendar of agreement, and when one party lives in District, and one outside, transportation will only be provided to the residence of the enrolled district parent. It also may be agreeable to utilize a daycare facility as a neutral stop.
