The Sto-Rox staff is always growing and learning as it finds the best ways to reach its students. On Friday February 17 - an in-service day for the distict - Sto-Rox staff underwent Trauma 101 and 102 training. Joe Brecht, from the Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, put on the training.

February is Black History Month, a time to recognize the achievements of African-Americans in the face of prejudice, both past and present. Sto-Rox School District will take steps throughout the month to recognize the contributions of African-American figures throughout history.

A new football team for 7th and 8th graders was among the highlights of Thursday night’s Sto-Rox School Board meeting. The meeting was a combined Agenda Review and Legislative Voting Meeting, meaning it will be the only one that will be held in February.

A Pittsburgh-area native who has spent most of her education career working in urban schools has come home - and started a new chapter - here in Sto-Rox. Raelyn Day is entering her second month as Assistant Principal for Grades 10-12 at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. 

Get ready to set sail on Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers for the 2023 Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. Prom! The event will take place on board a boat from the Gateway Clipper Fleet on Saturday, May 13 - and - the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) is helping students who want to go to prom, but cannot afford it.

The Sto-Rox School District is seeking proposals for Food Service Management Services. The selected company is expected to provide management services according to both United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Sto-Rox School District is accepting bids for sale of various used equipment items in "as-is" condition up through March 31, 2023. Bids will be received via public auction on the Municibid website (www.municibid.com) with various end times for individual items.

Sto-Rox seniors from both Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams, and Cheerleading, were honored Friday night ahead of the Boys’ season finale against Seton LaSalle.

A ruling that will affect Sto-Rox and many other Pennsylvania school districts was issued Tuesday by Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Renee Cohn Jubelirer. She ruled the state’s system of funding public schools is unconstitutional, violating students’ rights to an effective education.
