That’s a telling statement from a McKees Rocks tattoo artist who is giving Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School students an artistic outlet.

A bridge closure may affect traffic for Sto-Rox School District families on Wednesday. From Noon to 3 p.m., the bridge will close while crews mark the pavement. Traffic will be detoured to the West End Bridge.

The Sto-Rox National Honor Society is hoping you’ll make someone’s day - and - help induct their class of honorees. The NHS is selling Valentine’s Day carnations for $1 during the school day, and there is no limit on how many you can buy!

The Winter sports season is coming to a close in Sto-Rox, and the district is getting ready honor its senior student-athletes. Both varsity basketball teams will hold ceremonies for seniors during the final home games of the season. Watch this space for changes to the schedule, including the status of the Boys Junior Varsity game on Friday, February 10 - and - the exact timing of Senior Night ceremonies.

February 6-10 is National School Counseling Week, a time to highlight the contributions of school counselors to the education process. In Sto-Rox, we have a team of dedicated counselors who are committed steering students and their families on the path to success.

Just over an hour ago, we locked down all Sto-Rox schools in response to a community incident in Kennedy Township. The lockdown was done out of an abundance of caution. It lasted approximately 15 minutes, and no one in our schools was in any danger.

Call them the ‘Super Seven.’

Seven seniors who starred on the Sto-Rox Vikings Football Team signed their collegiate letters of intent on Wednesday during a Signing Day Ceremony at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium.

It’s his dream, and he’s finally living it.

Josh Kemp has taken over as Interim Athletic Director for the Sto-Rox School District, the culmination of years of patience and perseverance.

“It’s a moment of grace when you think about the steps leading up to this,” he said. “When the opportunity came, I was all over it. I did not second guess myself.”

Several Sto-Rox football student-athletes will soon make official their plans after high school. They’ll sign their letters of intent during ceremonies starting on Wednesday, February 1 at Noon at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium.
