Student-Athlete Viyhshaela Macon Honored with Jerome Bettis Leadership Award

Sto-Rox School District is proud to recognize Viyhshaela Macon, a standout student-athlete, for being named the Week 6 recipient of the Jerome Bettis Leadership Award, presented by the Pittsburgh Steelers, The Mentoring Partnership, and Giant Eagle.

This regional honor recognizes high school girls’ flag football players who demonstrate exceptional leadership, sportsmanship, and a commitment to supporting their teammates and school communities. Award recipients are selected for their ability to lead by example and positively influence those around them—both on and off the field.

Viyhshaela, a running back and defensive back for Sto-Rox, is known for her consistency, leadership, and team-first mindset. She brings positivity and confidence to her team and helps foster an inclusive, supportive environment for her peers.

Her recognition reflects the importance of strong relationships in student success and highlights the impact student-athletes can have as role models within their schools. Viyhshaela exemplifies what it means to lead with character, uplift others, and contribute to a positive team culture.
