Three Sto-Rox seniors were honored with scholarships on Thursday during the 62nd annual NEED Honors Banquet at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh. NEED is a Pittsburgh-based non-profit agency that helps underserved youth pursue higher education.

• Cor'Dae Simmons - NEED Achiever Scholarship
“I want to thank NEED for all the support, opportunities, and scholarships that you provide to the Sto-Rox students,” said School Counselor Joe Herzing, who was in attendance along with several underclassmen. “NEED also sponsored a table for our underclassmen so they could attend this inspirational event. “

Sto-Rox also had a starring role at the banquet, when one of those underclassmen - Jaliya Kerney - introduced the emcee of the evening, CCAC President Dr. Quintin Bullock.
