Javylah Macon.
A standout student-athlete on the Sto-Rox Girls Flag Football Team has been named to the Steelers Girls Flag (Football) All-Peer Team. Javylah Macon, a senior, is one of just seven local high schoolers who received the honor.
She’s described as a “dedicated leader and exemplifies leadership and sportsmanship as the captain of the flag football team. She has built a culture and environment of trust, encouragement and respect amongst the Sto-Rox flag football team by helping every teammate, making sure they feel included.”
Javylah is also an honor roll student at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School, and is preparing to graduate on May 30. She also volunteers at school and community events, truly showing what it means to have Viking Pride. She also has two sisters who are also teammates: Viyhshaela, a sophomore, and Viyhjae, a freshman.
The Macon Sisters: Viyhjae, Javylah, and Viyhshaela.

The All-Peer Team is an effort developed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Mentoring Partnership to honor student-athletes who support their peers and set an example on and off the field. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Giant Eagle and Spread Group came together with the Steelers and The Mentoring Partnership to create the inaugural Girls Flag All-Peer Team, and we thank them for honoring Javylah!
According to the award announcement, each winner will attend an exclusive event with Steelers players and receive a $1,000 donation to their athletic program. Sto-Rox is no stranger to the All-Peer team. In 2023, Sto-Rox Football standout Amare Harper was named to the Steelers All-Peer Team and was recognized at halftime of a Steelers game.
