Throughout February, the Sto-Rox School District will celebrate Black History Month by honoring the history, culture, leadership, and contributions of Black Americans. Students across the district will participate in performances, presentations, and activities that reflect their learning and creativity. Families and community members are invited to attend the events listed below.
Sto-Rox Primary Center
Sto-Rox Primary Center (SRPC) will host a two-day Black History Month celebration focused on leadership, culture, community, and student achievement.

Sto-Rox Upper Elementary
Sto-Rox Upper Elementary (SRUE) will celebrate Black History Month with a school-wide program featuring student performances and projects.
Event Details:
Friday, February 27 | 1:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
The Band, Chorus, and each grade level will perform during the program. Students will also present their Black History Month projects, highlighting the history, achievements, and lasting impact of Black figures in American History. Doors will open at 1 p.m. All guests will be screened by security, and bags will not be permitted.
Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School
Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School will recognize Black History Month with a series of student-centered activities and celebrations throughout February.

4th Annual S.O.U.L. Celebration | Friday, February 27 | 12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.
This S.O.U.L. (Showcasing Our Unique Legacy) event includes student performances in poetry, spoken word, dance, and artwork. Community partners will also be at the event offering interactive activities.
