Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School students got an up-close look at manufacturing careers earlier this month in Pittsburgh. Students attended ‘Manufacturing Day’ at Hazelwood Green’s Mill 19. The event, sponsored by Catalyst Connection, was an opportunity for high school students to learn about careers in Pittsburgh’s various manufacturing industries.

Do you want to be a Nittany Lion? That question was hanging over the heads of Sto-Rox students assembled in the Jr./Sr. High School Cafeteria on Monday morning. A representative from Penn State University was there to walk students through the application process and talk about everything Penn State has to offer.

The Sto-Rox School District will celebrate the Fall season with a ‘Fall Fest’ on Friday, October 27 at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. The event will run from 5:00 - 6:15 p.m., before the Sto-Rox Football season finale vs. Seton LaSalle. Sto-Rox students recently got a chance to explore careers in nursing with the help of the University of Pittsburgh. Adrian Bermudez, BSN, RN - co-founder of ‘Pitt’s Men in Nursing Club’ and secretary of the Graduate Nursing Student Organization, visited Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School with his team on October 6 to visit with 9th-12th graders.

The Sto-Rox School District is excited to announce its “Alumni Day” festivities designed to celebrate Sto-Rox graduates. This special celebration will take place Friday, October 13 - before, during and after the Vikings host Brentwood at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Stadium. It’s going to be a special night, as that is also the Sto-Rox Homecoming Game!
