Construction on a key gateway to McKees Rocks will have an impact on Sto-Rox families starting later this month. The McKees Rocks Bridge Preservation Project will get underway on August 22nd with single-lane closures ahead of the work that will begin in September.

Football returned to Sto-Rox High School with the Vikings kicking off their season against Steel Valley on Friday night. Sto-Rox fell short, 27-24, but there were still plenty of big plays and fun to be had.

A pep rally was held at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School gym Friday afternoon, ahead of the Vikings’ season-opening football game against Steel Valley at 7:00 p.m.

Fellow educators will be able to ‘lunch and lead’ this September with Superintendent Megan Van Fossan and EarlyBird Education.

Our partners at Steel City Impact are taking applications right now, for their after-school program that starts in Sto-Rox on October 3rd. The program is 7th through 10th grade students and it runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after school from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Graduates of the Sto-Rox School District will be recognized during the Vikings’ football game against Steel Valley on Friday, September 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. All Sto-Rox alumni are encouraged to attend, including former students, athletes, band members, and Vikettes.

If there is a quote that defines how Sto-Rox students can succeed with the Just Discipline Project, it is that one. The restorative practices program housed at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center on Race and Social Problems is now in place at Sto-Rox Upper Elementary School.

McKees Rocks Taxpayers are invited to come to the borough for an in-house Tax Collection on Wednesday, August 31st from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Welcome back to everyone in the Sto-Rox School District community! Classes on the first day of the 2022-2023 School Year got underway Wednesday at the Jr./Sr. High School, Upper Elementary and Primary Center buildings.
