Open Houses were held Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School, Upper Elementary, and Primary Center.

A lifelong educator will prove that coaching isn’t limited to sports when she brings her considerable math skills to bear in Sto-Rox School District this fall. Dr. Holly Pope is Coordinator for School Improvement and Comprehensive Support at Allegheny Intermediate Unit. She’ll be working with Primary Center staff and students on mathematics.

The Sto-Rox Community enjoyed football, food and fun on Saturday at Sto-Rox Junior/Senior High School. The Vikings Football Team squared off against Quaker Valley in their first scrimmage of the season, while the Sto-Rox Band entertained the crowd, and more than a dozen community organizations met with Sto-Rox students, their families, and alumni.

He was such a troublemaker, he was known as “demon seed.” He even repeated the ninth grade.

Now, he’s a school district superintendent.

Dr. Khalid Mumin was the keynote speaker for Sto-Rox School District teachers and administrators as they returned to school Thursday for an in-service day.

Sto-Rox students can pick up their computers and other technical equipment on Monday and Tuesday during the open houses at their respective schools.

That metaphor from K-6 Academic Principal, Dr. Brooke Stebler, perfectly describes PBIS. It’s a behavioral program that is being expanded and enhanced in Sto-Rox School District.

The Sto-Rox School Board welcomed its newest member Thursday night at the Upper Elementary School. Shawn Evans was sworn-in at the start of the Combined Special Legislative Voting & Agenda Review Meeting.

There are teachers who have a lot of experience, and a lot of things on their plates.

And then, there is Suellen Engelhard.

A 26-year veteran of the Sto-Rox School District, Engelhard has built quite a resume, and she doesn’t stand still.
