As the winter season approaches, we would like to share important information regarding our protocol when inclement weather may cause the district to delay or cancel school.
If the district announces a delay or closure, you will be notified via robocall and text message. Information will also be available on local news stations (KDKA, WPXI, WTAE), as well as on our website and social media pages.
In the event of a delay, breakfast will still be served, and all afterschool activities will be canceled. Please follow the delayed start times for each building:
Sto-Rox Primary Center (Grades K-3): 11:15 a.m.
Sto-Rox Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6): 10:15 a.m.
Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School (Grades 7-12): 9:25 a.m.
Parkway West Career & Technology Center Students: Students will not attend Parkway. They will be picked up from their normal morning location and transported to Sto-Rox High School at their normal scheduled time.
In the event of a full day closure, the district may call a Flexible Instructional Day (FID) if possible. Students in grades 7-12 will be able to participate in synchronous learning using their school-issued devices and Google Classroom. Students in grades K-6 can complete the work provided in their grade’s FID Packet, which will be sent home and made available on our school website. *Additionally, there will be no transportation for students who attend charter or private schools.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the main office of the appropriate building. We thank you for your readiness and support.
