Sto-Rox Highlights Importance of Early Kindergarten Registration

As school districts across the Pittsburgh region prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, Sto-Rox School District is encouraging families to register incoming kindergarten students as early as possible to support a smooth and successful transition to school.

In a recent regional article, Sto-Rox Director of Student Services Brittany Linsenbigler shared how early registration allows the district to thoughtfully plan for staffing, classroom supports, and instructional needs. Early enrollment helps teachers better understand students’ abilities and ensure they receive the support they need from the very first day of school.

The article also highlights Sto-Rox’s community-based outreach efforts, including partnerships with local organizations and hands-on support for families throughout the registration process. These efforts are especially important, as nearly one in five kindergarten students enrolled after the first day of school this year.

Early registration benefits students, families, and schools by strengthening readiness, improving planning, and setting students up for success.
