Students in Grades 7 and 8 will participate in the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) according to the following schedule:
ELA: Monday, April 20 - Tuesday, April 21
Math: Monday, April 27 - Tuesday, April 28
Science (8th grade only): Wednesday, April 29 - Thursday, April 30
Virtual Vikings students in Grades 7 and 8 are required to take the assessment in person at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. Testing will begin at 11:00 a.m. and conclude by 2:00 p.m. If your student finishes early, you will be contacted for pickup if preferred. At parents’ request, students who are enrolled virtually and would normally ride the bus may be picked up by the school van prior to testing and may ride the high school bus home after testing. Please note: there is no remote option for testing.
You can support your child’s success by ensuring they get adequate sleep, eat a healthy breakfast each morning, and arrive on time each day. Breakfast is avaiable at school. All students must participate, as our overall school performance is impacted by participation rates. Please avoid scheduling appointments during testing dates. If your child is not feeling well during the testing window, please keep them at home and notify the school. Make-up sessions will be provided.

Cellphones, smart watches, Chromebooks, and other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing room. Possession of these items may result in disciplinary action.
