Math and Much More On Tap In Sto-Rox This Summer

The Sto-Rox School District is preparing to offer summer math programming. The “Safe Spaces Algebra I and Summer Enrichment” program will start Tuesday, June 10 at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, district staff will teach from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This program is for students who are currently enrolled in middle or high school Algebra I or high school students who have not demonstrated proficiency on the Algebra I Keystone Exam. The program will not only include math instruction, but also open gym, intramural activites, and field trips. Transportation will be provided for students to/from the program, along with the option of breakfast and lunch onsite.

This program will give students an opportunity to improve their math skills and have a safe place to learn and play. This effort is supported by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Math-Science Collaborative (MSC), whose members will train and work with district staff to support this program.

To enroll your child in Safe Spaces please contact Parent-Community Liaison Ed Pierce at epierce@srsd.k12.pa.us or 412-877-5716.
