It’s vital for all school districts to exchange ideas and move the field of education forward, and Sto-Rox School District is part of a multi-state effort to do just that. Superintendent Megan Van Fossan traveled to Washington, D.C. in Septemeber to take part in the program kickoff for the Advanced Education Policy Leadership Program (AEPLP). Sto-Rox students in grades 9-12 spent part of September forming a student council. Click to learn how their adviser, Social Studies teacher Kevin Woods, helped them learn about student government and how it can be a springboard to bigger and better things for themselves and their community.

On Monday, the district received the latest boost from the Cercone family, friends, and district alumni. Mike Cercone, Rich Cercone’s brother, came to the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School gym to deliver a $7,000 check that will help the district maintain the artificial turf at the Jr./Sr. High School Stadium.
