Due to the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024 we will be dismissing all classes at Noon. Open the door to Sto-Rox Upper Elementary on a late winter evening, and you’re greeted by a barrage of sounds. The squeak of sneakers on polished wood. The shouts of boys passing a basketball. The applause of an audience filled with families of those boys. They are sounds that weren’t being heard before this year, because this was the first season of the Upper Elementary Boys Basketball Program at Sto-Rox School District.

Sto-Rox Athletics is holding a get-together for alumni and friends - an Alumni Social - in an effort to get everyone up to speed on the status of the Vikings’ athletic programs. This Sto-Rox Athletics Alumni Social will be held Friday, April 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at JD’s Joint in Kennedy Township.

Dressed in Sto-Rox green and holding candles signifying the bright lights of their selection, Sto-Rox students were inducted Tuesday evening into the National Honor Society (NHS). A ceremony was held at Father Ryan Arts Center, where inductees and their families - nearly 100 people - enjoyed dinner and the induction ceremony.

The Sto-Rox School District is looking to fill four (4) open positions on the school board. We are hoping dedicated community members will step and answer the call to serve the district, its students, families, and residents. Click through to learn more about the openings.

It’s been a long time coming: Sto-Rox’s softball program is returning to the diamond this spring after a layoff of several years, led by first-time head coach Heather O’Hara. “I am excited to watch these ladies grow and hopefully they’ll love the game as much as I do,” said O’Hara.
