One after another, plates of whipped cream were smushed into the faces of Sto-Rox teachers, administrators and a security guard. The students who did the smushing were not punished. On the contrary, they were being awarded for good behavior.

The Sto-Rox School District will hold a Special Legislative Voting Meeting on Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Cafeteria, 1105 Valley Street, McKees Rocks, PA 15136. The meeting will be for general business and any other such business that may come before the board. District residents and local media are encouraged to attend.

Sto-Rox School District gave an update Monday night on its progress in the first of the state recovery plan. Superintendent of Schools Megan Van Fossan and School Board President Cameron Culliver led a presentation that focused on successes and achievements both inside and outside the classroom. The town hall meeting took place at the Father Ryan Arts Center/Sto-Rox Public Library at Focus on Renewal, a district partner.

Sto-Rox High School is partnering with The Jed Foundation to conduct an online survey about student well-being, challenges they may face, and their sources of support. He may be new to being an administrator, but he is a longtime educator with a proven track record who is ready to roll up his sleeves in Sto-Rox. Tim Liparulo was hired in March as Assistant Principal of Sto-Rox Upper Elementary. A Butler native, Liparulo is a product of the Butler Area School District, both as a student and an educator.
