Sto-Rox School Directors met Thursday evening at Meyers Ridge Community Center, the first of two events where Sto-Rox School District officials are going into the community to conduct business. District students, residents and parents packed the room where school directors held their meeting, hosted by Meyers Ridge staff.

The annual PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) exams are being conducted in Sto-Rox starting this week. These exams are part of a series of tests that help teachers and administrators assess students’ performance in Math, English Language Arts and Science. Click through for testing dates.

He may be new to being an administrator, but he is a longtime educator with a proven track record who is ready to roll up his sleeves in Sto-Rox. Tim Liparulo was hired in March as Assistant Principal of Sto-Rox Upper Elementary. A Butler native, Liparulo is a product of the Butler Area School District, both as a student and an educator.

The Sto-Rox School School Board and district officials are hitting the road. School directors will hold their April meeting on Thursday, April 20 at Meyers Ridge Community Center, while on Monday, May 1 the district will hold a Town Hall Meeting at Focus On Renewal.

Sto-Rox high school sports teams had a lot to celebrate over the weekend. The baseball, girls flag football and track and field teams all notched wins. Click through for updates!

The McKees Rocks Bridge will close for four hours on Thursday, April 13. The closure will cover part of the Sto-Rox school day, so we want to make sure district families and residents are aware of the situation.

Students who participated in a regional video-making contest were honored recently at the Heinz History Center. Seventh graders Mia Milkovich, Neveah Morin and Ahlai Robinson created a video showcasing the JATCO company.

Easter eggs were hunted, snow cones were eaten and a lot of fun was had Tuesday evening at Sto-Rox Primary Center. The SRPC/SRUE Title I Event for April featured the Easter Bunny, reading and math activities, and much more.
