A newly-created role for the Sto-Rox student body requires a student with ambition, goals and dedication.

Enter Makayla Borda.

The sophomore recently started as the district’s student representative.

A new arrival and a surprising departure marked Thursday night’s reorganization meeting of the Sto-Rox School Board. School Director Ken Hohman announced his resignation toward the end of the meeting. Earlier, the board interviewed and appointed DaLisha Hoszowski to an open seat.

A traffic change will affect drivers coming into and out of McKees Rocks on Tuesday, December 6. PennDOT will have single-lane, alternating traffic on the McKees Rocks Bridge at the Helen Street on and off-ramps between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. so crews can repair a damaged inlet.

A mainstay of WTAE’s news and sports came to Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School on Tuesday to teach some tricks of his trade to students. Andrew Stockey spoke to a junior high class that is is part of a partnership among Sto-Rox School District, Point Park University’s Center for Media Innovation, and the Gazette 2.0.

As we prepare to take time off from school November 23-November 28, 2022 for the Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has helped to restore a routine for showing up to school while supporting students and families.

All good things must come to an end. And so, the journey of the Sto-Rox Vikings' Football Team ended Friday night with a 54-16 loss to the Beaver Falls Tigers at Ambridge in the WPIAL Class 2A Semifinal.
