The Sto-Rox Vikings Football Team will hit the road for the first time during the playoffs when they play Beaver Falls (#2) this Friday in the semifinal round of the 2022 WPIAL/UPMC Sports Medicine Class 2A Football Championships. The Vikings (#3) will face the Tigers at Ambridge High School in Ambridge, Beaver County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18.

The Sto-Rox Vikings Football Team beat Keystone Oaks on a rainy Friday night, winning by a score of 50-0. The Vikings will move on to the semifinal round of the WPIAL Class 2A Football Championship, where they will play Beaver Falls.

Today is Friday, and while it's the end of another week and Friday night football is on tap, we wanted to take a moment to say 'thank you' to our military service members.

He grew up in McKeesport, and while he worked in Pittsburgh most his life, Harold Hayes’ career took him on many journeys near and far. The KDKA-TV reporter who retired in 2016 spoke Thursday with students in one of Julie Himmelstein’s media classes at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School.

Due to a lack of extra drivers, the Purple bus will not be in service on Wednesday. As a result, the Purple bus’ pickups will be split between the Blue bus and the Green bus. Either the Blue bus or the Green bus will report to the Purple bus stops to help collect students.

November is a month of transition and Thanksgiving. As October’s leaves are swept away and December’s snowfall draws closer, we want to take a moment and focus on who and what we’re thankful for in the Sto-Rox School District. We want to hear from you: our students, families, staff and neighbors who make up our community.

On Wednesday, November 9th, Sto-Rox School District will hold a security drill in each of its three school buildings. These drills are required by Pennsylvania code to take place within 90 days of the start of the school year, in lieu of a required fire drill.

On Friday, four Sto-Rox Seniors attended the Builders Guild of Western PA Union Fair at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. More than 40 trades and unions - representing future careers - were represented at the fair.
