About Dan

Dan Rinkus is a Communications Specialist from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) serving the Sto-Rox School District and the AIU’s Early Childhood, Family and Community Services division. He came to the AIU in May of 2022 after working for more than a decade in local television news. Most recently, he worked at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, producing the 5:00 p.m. newscast and winning two Emmy Awards. He is a graduate of PennWest Clarion (‘08) and lives in Pittsburgh with his partner and two dogs.

As the communications representative for Sto-Rox School District, Dan helps to coordinate the district’s message. Simply put, he spreads the word about Sto-Rox! That means you’ll likely see him around campus interviewing students and teachers, or taking photos at a football game or concert. Dan is always on the lookout for a good story. He posts updates to the district’s website and manages the district’s social media accounts, so if you have a question or a comment, he’ll likely be the one answering you. Don’t be afraid to say hello!
