Wrestling takes top honors in King of the Ring tournament

This weekend members of the Sto-Rox Jr. High Wrestling team competed at the South Fayette "King of the Ring" tournament in the 12 and under, 10 and under, and 13 and under divisions. 10 and under and 12 and under was a 1st year wrestling tournament meaning all wrestlers where in their first year of wrestling , while our 13 year old's competed in a 2nd and 3rd year division held on Sunday. For all of these wrestlers minus Makhy Upshaw this was their first experience wrestling someone who was not a teammate. Both days featured wrestlers from long standing great wrestling programs such as Connesville, North Allegheny, Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, as well as independent wrestling clubs. Our wrestlers competed with great pride, determination and heart. 10 of 12 wrestlers medaled but all gained valuable experience for future tournaments. Next week they will be competing at the Berlin Brothers Valley tournament on February 2nd and The North Allegheny Tournament first year tournament on February 3rd.
