What is Project Prom?
Project Prom is a partnership between the Allegheny County
Department of Human Services (DHS) and the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW)
to provide FREE prom attire to ensure local students have the opportunity to go
to the prom affordably and with confidence and style.
Who is eligible?
Any student who lives in Allegheny County and receives a free or
reduced lunch at school. Students who receive services from DHS or one of its
agencies or have a member of their household who is a veteran or on active
military duty are also eligible to take part.
Where do the gowns come from
and where can you get them?
Thanks to the generosity of local retailers and private donations,
there are thousands of brand new and gently worn gowns for students to choose
from at the Project Prom Shop at Thriftique in Lawrenceville, located at 125
